Let’s Grow was a voucher-collection scheme, aimed to help schools capture the imagination of the nation’s children by showing them where food comes from and inspiring them to grow their own fruit and veg on the school grounds.

Catalogue

Altogether, there were are a lot of elements that needed to be designed. One of these was a two-sided, colour-coded catalogue, which was created so that teachers could easily find the sections they needed.

The two sides enabled clear navigation, but also allowed separation of the content. One side about the programme, and the other side the products they could purchase with their collected vouchers. The vouchers they got by shopping at Morrisons stores nationwide.

Collection box

Among the collection of design elements were vouchers and a collection box. The idea was that this wheelbarrow design would be displayed in class for the parents and children to drop off their vouchers. This wheelbarrow also had an exciting dual purpose, whereby it could be used as a grow box after the scheme had ended.

Direct mailers

The purpose of this watering can mailer was to entice teachers who had signed up with Let’s Grow previously, but hadn’t participated in the previous 3 years, to get back involved. ‘designful hope’ took the approach of creating a fun and interactive mailer. By pulling the top tab, the can would fill with water and also reveal a perforated voucher, which gave the teacher a head start on the year’s collecting.

Results: 1,821 schools got back involved with Let’s Grow.

The second direct mailer was for existing participants, giving them key information on how Let’s Grow had developed in the last year and what was to come in the current year.
